Meet Florence
Hailing from Ireland, Florence moved to Winnipeg twelve years ago with her family.
Florence van Dijk was transplanted from the lush green of Ireland to snowy Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2013 with her husband and two daughters when her architect husband came to work here.
Florence grew up on a farm on Ireland's East coast and developed her love of nature and botanicals from the Dutch side of her family and her many trips to the Netherlands.
Leaving behind a career in retail marketing, she trained in Floristry school in Northern Ireland and worked as a florist, interior designer and farmers markets organizer. In Winnipeg she worked for a time in Oak & Lily before founding Florence Botanicals.
Her aim is to bring her customers the joy and seasonality of flowers as part of their everyday and on their most special days too.
To-date the face of Florence Botanicals is Flower and Plant Pop-ups at the likes of Parlour Coffee on Main Street and markets such as the Home & Garden Show, The German Christmas Market, Lucky Girl Popup Markets and Herbivore Haven Markets.
We welcome weddings and events, big and small, Floral installations for retailers and photo shoots and look forward to creating seasonal floral magic for every customer.
